We all love this dress. It really is special and we can only imagine the lovely days it must have seen. Discovered in a trunk here in southern Alberta, the owner thought it would have been his grandmothers and probably brought with her from England. After a careful wash and a bit of re-stitching, we were amazed to see just what amazing shape it is in. Lovely embroidery and delicate lace trim gauzy gathered cotton on the skirt and bodice. The dainty bell shaped sleeves have inserts of ruffled lace. We left the dress original and to tell the truth, we think it looks like you could wear it either way. It has a layer of lace underneath gathered guaze on both the front and back. Snaps and hook and eyes close the dress but could easily be modified to buttons, clear snaps, ties... we’ve also shown a sash with the dress to give you an idea of what it looks like cinched in.
