1940s McGill University Nursing Student Blazer, Size M

I love when I find treasures like this in a closet.  Someone had wonderful memories of being young with the whole world ahead of them and was probably very proud to wear this gorgeous blazer and never wanted to give it up. - I get that.  It is in wonderful condition and ready to wear.  Lovely felted red wool trimmed with cream gros grain ribbon, nice big path pockets and the breast pocket is decorated with a McGill crest and there are metal McGill buttons on the front.  The blazer is made in Canada by Bland Nurses Outfitters and is unlined and has light cotton shoulder pads. So charmingly vintage!  Pair it with jeans, a Tee and loafers for a vintage preppy look or style it up with a dress or pleated skirt.  

The size tag says 36 which is a bit misleading because I tried it on and would say it is a medium and has fairly wide shoulders. It is shown on my size small mannequin.

Chest:  20" across laying flat.   Waist: 19" across laying flat.   Hip: 42"

Across the back shoulders: 16.75".   Sleeve length: 24".  

Shoulder to hem: 24.5"
