Very pretty Rose Marx strapless Bra from the 1940s. Satin front with tons of boning and pretty lace detailing. The sides are a canvas type fabric with a little stretch and more boning (13 rows in all). The back dips way down and I imagine this model was designed for a backless dress. It has the famous Rose Marx stretch band just under the bust and a felt trim for comfort. The elastic at the closure has stretched out a little but overall, the bra is in good, clean, wearable condition.
Made in Canada by Rose Marx Creations. If you haven’t read the story of Rose Marx, you’ve got to look it up in the MacLean’s archives, it’s such a great story of immigrant to successful businesswoman in the 1940s.
We purchased this bra from a little fashion museum when it closed and it still has its archive number label.
