1960s Silk Floral Party Dress and Shawl

Another dreamy dress from the Hess Estate.  Stunning fit and flare dress with dramatic low back design in the most gorgeous, high quality floral silk.  The fabric is backed with a stiffening muslin and lined with a cool crisp cream fabric in the bodice and two layers of stiffened organza in the skirt.  The flattering design includes princess seams on the vertical line of the bust and deep darts from the waist for a perfect fit.  Wide pleats add classic full shaping to the skirt. There is a nylon side zipper and a couple of factory labels but no identifying manufacturers label - this doesn't really surprise me since many of her dresses have been altered to fit her perfectly and during that process, the tag was often removed and not put back in.  Most of her dresses were purchased at Holt Renfrew and this dress is definitely of that calibre or higher.  The listing  includes  a matching shawl of the same silk fabric that is lined with the same fabric.  An outstanding dress of exceptional quality.
