1930s Green Floral Chiffon Day Dress with Slip and Vest, Size S
Feminine and flattering dress from my favourite decade, the 1930s. This dress had been safely packed away in a little fashion museum we had here in southern Alberta and it is wonderful to find an old doll like this that still has her liner. The print on the fabric is so summery and pretty and the cut and placement of the panels and seams makes for an unmistakable 30s silhouette. The green liner is silk and in very good, clean condition. Made to flow, the hem and sleeves of the dress have an old fashioned overcast hem that appears almost invisible. It can be worn with or without the vest and comes with its own matching belt with filigree buckle. It is in very good vintage condition with a minor hole under one arm and some hemline that has lost its stitching (as seen in the photos). As I'm measuring it, I see at least one tiny hole at the hem, but it is hidden in the pattern and sheerness of the fabric. All the flaws easily fixed or can be left as is - none are very noticeable. The perfect little dress to attend a wedding or other afternoon event in.
Bust: 36" Waist: 32" Hip: 39"
Shoulder to waist is 14" and Waist to hem is 32"
Shoulder to shoulder of the bodice is 15" *note - the sleeves are set an inch onto the bodice rather than into an armhole so part of the shoulder is covered with sleeve.
