Incredibly beautiful 1930s black lace gown with tons of gorgeous detailing like deeply dropped back, flutter sleeves, peplum and amazing body hugging skirt with mermaid bottom. There are no snaps or hooks, you simply shimmy in. There is quite a bit of stretch to the lace but It is almost 100 years old so I want to say that is in wonderful condition for its age but is delicate in the way a 100 year old piece is. Although the waist could accommodate a larger than 28 inch waist, the belt is 28” done up so I’m guessing it was designed for a 28” waist. The lace is exquisite and i want to stress that it is not elastic but stretches a bit simply because of the way it is made and the way it is cut and pieced. Having said that, I have seen this dress on models from XS to M and it looks lovely on a 32” to 36” bust and can be belted in for a small waist. The hip fits 36 to 40”. This is an exceptional dress with lots of drama and Hollywood glam. It does not have a liner - I have seen it modelled with a cream liner, a black liner and a pink liner - I have also seen it modelled with a short slip and they all look stunning. Shoulder to waist measurement is 16” and waist to hem is 42” but those measurements change according to the width of the body wearing it.
This is a rare beauty in very good condition. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
