1940s large wooden tray table. The tray itself is quite large, 29" x 17.5" and is beautifully decorated with hand-painted flowers. The tray is made with 5/8" wood sides and a base of pressboard. The scalloped upper edge of the tray is painted gold. The folding legs of the tray are 23.5" x 12.5". When the tray is set on the legs to make a table, it is 17" tall. The overall condition of the table is very good for its age. It does have a bit of wear to the sides of the handles as shown in the photos and one of the heavy staples that holds the strapping to the table legs has been replaced with a tack (not at all visible when in use)
I purchased the table here in Calgary several years ago from a woman who was born in the late 40s and she remembered the table being in her home when she was a small child. I love it and it is a wonderful additional table during Christmas, but I am downsizing and hope to find a good home for it.
